In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Abu Taher Khan of TMC won in this seat defeating Abu Hena of INC by a margin of 2,26,417 votes which was 15.57% of the total votes cast for the seat. TMC had a vote share of 41.56% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Badaruddoza Khan of CPM emerged victorious in this seat beating Abdul Mannan Hossain of INC by a margin of 18,453 votes which was 1.44% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM secured a vote share of 33.42% in the seat.
