In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Choudhury Mohan Jatua of TMC won in this seat defeating Shyamaprasad Halder of BJP by a margin of 2,03,974 votes which was 14.55% of the total votes cast for the seat. TMC had a vote share of 51.84% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Choudhury Mohan Jatua of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Rinku Naskar of CPM by a margin of 1,38,768 votes which was 11.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 49.92% in the seat.
