In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Mahua Moitra of TMC won in this seat defeating Kalyan Chaubey of BJP by a margin of 63,218 votes which was 4.63% of the total votes cast for the seat. TMC had a vote share of 44.99% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Tapas Paul of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Jha Shantanu of CPM by a margin of 71,255 votes which was 5.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 35.16% in the seat.
