In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Bandyopadhyay Sudip of TMC won in this seat defeating Rahul (Biswajit) Sinha of BJP by a margin of 1,27,095 votes which was 13.37% of the total votes cast for the seat. TMC had a vote share of 49.95% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Sudip Bandyopadhyay of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Rahul (Biswajit) Sinha of BJP by a margin of 96,226 votes which was 10.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 35.96% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Sudip Bandyopadhyay of TMC won this seat beating Md Salim of CPM by a margin of 1,09,278 votes which was 12.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC had a vote share of 52.5% in the seat.
