In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Dr Jayanta Kumar Roy of BJP won in this seat defeating Bijoy Chandra Barman of TMC by a margin of 1,84,004 votes which was 12.26% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 50.63% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Bijoy Chandra Barman of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Mahendra Kumar Roy of CPM by a margin of 69,606 votes which was 5.35% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 38% in the seat.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Mahendra Kumar Roy of CPM won this seat beating Barma Sukhbilas of INC by a margin of 88,371 votes which was 8.56% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM had a vote share of 45.51% in the seat.
