In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Asit Kumar Mal of TMC won in this seat defeating Das Ramprasad of BJP by a margin of 1,06,402 votes which was 7.28% of the total votes cast for the seat. TMC had a vote share of 47.83% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Anupam Harza of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Dome Ramchandra of CPM by a margin of 2,36,112 votes which was 18.1% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 48.34% in the seat.
