In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Nusrat Jahan Ruhi of TMC won in this seat defeating Sayantan Basu of BJP by a margin of 3,50,369 votes which was 24.44% of the total votes cast for the seat. TMC had a vote share of 54.55% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Idris Ali of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Nurul Huda of CPI by a margin of 1,09,659 votes which was 8.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 38.65% in the seat.
