In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Sukanta Majumdar of BJP won in this seat defeating Arpita Ghosh of TMC by a margin of 33,293 votes which was 2.78% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 45.01% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Arpita Ghosh of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Bimalendu Sarkar (Bimal) of RSP by a margin of 1,06,964 votes which was 10.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 38.53% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Prasanta Kumar Majumdar of RSP won this seat beating Biplab Mitra of TMC by a margin of 5,105 votes which was 0.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. RSP had a vote share of 44.35% in the seat.
