In the April 12, 2022 bypolls for Asansol Lok Sabha constituency, Shatrughan Prasad Sinha of AITC won from this seat defeating Agnimitra Paul of BJP by a margin of 3,03,209 votes which was 26.14% of the total votes cast for the seat. AITC had a vote share of 56.59% in the bye-elections.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Babul Supriyo of BJP won in this seat defeating Moon Moon Sen of TMC by a margin of 1,97,637 votes which was 15.96% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 51.16% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Babul Supriya Baral (Babul Supriyo) of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Dola Sen of TMC by a margin of 70,480 votes which was 6.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 36.76% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Bansa Gopal Chowdhury of CPM won this seat beating Ghatak Moloy of TMC by a margin of 72,956 votes which was 8.16% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM had a vote share of 48.69% in the seat.
