In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Sangam Lal Gupta of BJP won in this seat defeating Ashok Tripathi of BSP by a margin of 1,17,752 votes which was 12.87% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 47.67% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Kuwar Harivansh Singh of ADAL emerged victorious in this seat beating Asif Nizamuddin Siddique of BSP by a margin of 1,68,222 votes which was 18.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. ADAL secured a vote share of 42.01% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Rajkumari Ratna Singh of INC won this seat beating Prof Shivakant Ojha of BSP by a margin of 29,779 votes which was 4.65% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 26.39% in the seat.
