In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Girish Chandra of BSP won in this seat defeating Dr Yashwant Singh of BJP by a margin of 1,66,832 votes which was 16.53% of the total votes cast for the seat. BSP had a vote share of 56.29% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Yashwant Singh of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Yashvir Singh of SP by a margin of 92,390 votes which was 9.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 39.04% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Yashvir Singh of SP won this seat beating Ram Kishan Singh of BSP by a margin of 59,688 votes which was 9.28% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SP had a vote share of 36.49% in the seat.
