In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Kaushal Kishore of BJP won in this seat defeating C L Verma of BSP by a margin of 90,204 votes which was 7.1% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 49.58% in 2019 in this seat.
