In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Anurag Sharma of BJP won in this seat defeating Shyam Sundar Singh of SP by a margin of 3,65,683 votes which was 26.48% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 58.59% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Uma Bharati of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Dr Chandrapal Singh Yadav of SP by a margin of 1,90,467 votes which was 14.44% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 43.67% in the seat.
