In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Shyam Singh Yadav of BSP won in this seat defeating Krishna Pratap Singh K P of BJP by a margin of 80,936 votes which was 7.78% of the total votes cast for the seat. BSP had a vote share of 50.02% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Krishna Pratap of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Subhash Pandey of BSP by a margin of 1,46,310 votes which was 14.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 36.46% in the seat.
