In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Ravindra Shyamnarayan Shukla Alias Ravi Kishan of BJP won in this seat defeating Rambhual Nishad of SP by a margin of 3,01,664 votes which was 25.46% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 60.52% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Adityanath of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Rajmati Nishad of SP by a margin of 3,12,783 votes which was 30.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 51.83% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Adityanath of BJP won this seat beating Vinay Shankar Tiwari of BSP by a margin of 2,20,271 votes which was 29.33% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 53.68% in the seat.
