In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Afzal Ansari of BSP won in this seat defeating Manoj Sinha of BJP by a margin of 1,19,392 votes which was 10.8% of the total votes cast for the seat. BSP had a vote share of 51.11% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Manoj Sinha of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Smt Shivkanya Kushwaha of SP by a margin of 32,452 votes which was 3.29% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 31.11% in the seat.
