In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Dr Sanghmitra Maurya of BJP won in this seat defeating Dharmendra Yadav of SP by a margin of 18,454 votes which was 1.71% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 47.28% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Dharmendra Yadav of SP emerged victorious in this seat beating Vagish Pathak of BJP by a margin of 1,66,347 votes which was 16.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SP secured a vote share of 48.5% in the seat.
