In the June 23, 2022 bypolls for Azamgarh Lok Sabha constituency, Dinesh Lal Yadav "Nirahua" of BJP won from this seat defeating Dharmendra Yadav of SP by a margin of 8,679 votes which was 0.95% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 34.38% in the bye-elections.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Akhilesh Yadav of SP won in this seat defeating Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua of BJP by a margin of 2,59,874 votes which was 25.25% of the total votes cast for the seat. SP had a vote share of 60.36% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Mulayam Singh Yadav of SP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ramakant Yadav of BJP by a margin of 63,204 votes which was 6.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SP secured a vote share of 35.44% in the seat.
