In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Smriti Irani of BJP won in this seat defeating Rahul Gandhi of INC by a margin of 55,120 votes which was 5.85% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 49.69% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Rahul Gandhi of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Smriti Irani of BJP by a margin of 1,07,903 votes which was 12.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 46.72% in the seat.
