In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Ritesh Pandey of BSP won in this seat defeating Mukut Bihari of BJP by a margin of 95,880 votes which was 8.8% of the total votes cast for the seat. BSP had a vote share of 51.72% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Hariom of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Rakesh Pandey of BSP by a margin of 1,39,429 votes which was 13.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 41.77% in the seat.
