In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Dr A Chellakumar of INC won in this seat defeating K P Munusamy of AIADMK by a margin of 1,56,765 votes which was 13.5% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 52.6% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Ashok Kumar K of AIADMK emerged victorious in this seat beating Chinna PillappaP of DMK by a margin of 2,06,591 votes which was 19.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. AIADMK secured a vote share of 44.97% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Sugavanam E G of DMK won this seat beating Nanjegowdu K of ADMK by a margin of 76,598 votes which was 10.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. DMK had a vote share of 44.64% in the seat.
