In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Thirumaavalavan Thol of VCK won in this seat defeating Chandrasekar P of AIADMK by a margin of 3,219 votes which was 0.28% of the total votes cast for the seat. VCK had a vote share of 43.34% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, M Chandrakasi of AIADMK emerged victorious in this seat beating Thirumaavalavan, Thol of VCK by a margin of 1,28,495 votes which was 11.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. AIADMK secured a vote share of 39.47% in the seat.
