In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Gurjeet Singh Aujla of INC won in this seat defeating Hardeep Singh Puri of BJP by a margin of 99,626 votes which was 11.59% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 51.71% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Captain Amarinder Singh of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Arun Jaitley of BJP by a margin of 1,02,770 votes which was 10.2% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 47.94% in the seat.
