In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Mahesh Sahoo of BJD won in this seat defeating Rudra Narayan Pany of BJP by a margin of 35,412 votes which was 3.13% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJD had a vote share of 46.14% in 2019 in this seat.
