In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Aparajita Sarangi of BJP won in this seat defeating Arup Mohan Patnaik of BJD by a margin of 23,839 votes which was 2.37% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 48.43% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Prasanna Kumar Patasani of BJD emerged victorious in this seat beating Prithiviraj Harichandan of BJP by a margin of 1,89,477 votes which was 21.25% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJD secured a vote share of 49.25% in the seat.
