In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Debasree Chaudhuri of BJP won in this seat defeating Agarwal Kanaialal of TMC by a margin of 60,574 votes which was 4.74% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 40.03% in 2019 in this seat.
