In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Dilip Ghosh of BJP won in this seat defeating Manas Ranjan Bhunia of TMC by a margin of 88,952 votes which was 6.31% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 48.6% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Sandhya Roy of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Prabodh Panda of CPI by a margin of 1,85,128 votes which was 14.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 46.02% in the seat.
