In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury (Dalu) of INC won in this seat defeating Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury of BJP by a margin of 8,222 votes which was 0.64% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 34.71% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Bisnu Pada Roy of BJP by a margin of 1,64,111 votes which was 15.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 34.81% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury of INC won this seat beating Abdur Razzaque of CPM by a margin of 1,36,280 votes which was 16.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 53.45% in the seat.
