In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Pratima Mondal of TMC won in this seat defeating Dr Ashok Kandary of BJP by a margin of 3,16,775 votes which was 23.36% of the total votes cast for the seat. TMC had a vote share of 56.12% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Pratima Mondal of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Subhas Naskar of RSP by a margin of 1,08,384 votes which was 9.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 41.71% in the seat.
