In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, S S Ahluwalia of BJP won in this seat defeating Dr Mamtaz Sanghamita of TMC by a margin of 2,439 votes which was 0.17% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 41.75% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Mamtaz Sanghamita of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Sk Saidul Haque of CPM by a margin of 1,07,331 votes which was 8.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 41.64% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Sk Saidul Haque of CPM won this seat beating Nargis Begum of INC by a margin of 1,08,237 votes which was 9.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM had a vote share of 50.52% in the seat.
