In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, John Barla of BJP won in this seat defeating Dasrath Tirkey of TMC by a margin of 2,43,989 votes which was 17.68% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 54.36% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Dasrath Tirkey of TMC emerged victorious in this seat beating Manohar Tirkey of RSP by a margin of 21,397 votes which was 1.75% of the total votes polled in the constituency. TMC secured a vote share of 29.62% in the seat.
