In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Ajay Tamta of BJP won in this seat defeating Pradeep Tamta of INC by a margin of 2,32,986 votes which was 33.55% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 63.54% in 2019 in this seat.
