In 2014, Feroze Varun Gandhi of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Pawan Pandey of BSP by a margin of 1,78,902 votes which was 18.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 42.52% in the seat.
