In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Rajnath Singh of BJP won in this seat defeating Poonam Shatrughan Sinha of SP by a margin of 3,47,302 votes which was 31.11% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 56.64% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Raj Nath Singh of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Prof Rita Bahuguna Joshi of INC by a margin of 2,72,749 votes which was 26.38% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 54.28% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Lal Ji Tandon of BJP won this seat beating Rita Bahuguna Joshi of INC by a margin of 40,901 votes which was 7% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 34.93% in the seat.
