In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Vinod Kumar Sonkar of BJP won in this seat defeating Indrajeet Saroj of SP by a margin of 38,722 votes which was 3.97% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 39.28% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Vinod Kumar Sonkar of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Shailendra Kumar of SP by a margin of 42,900 votes which was 4.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 36.44% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Shailendra Kumar of SP won this seat beating Girish Chandra Pasi of BSP by a margin of 55,789 votes which was 10.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SP had a vote share of 44.69% in the seat.
