Gautam Buddha Nagar is a highly populous seat, equally split between urban and rural voters, with a total voter population of 23 lakh votes. It is home to the metropolitan city of Noida. Of the five assembly segments, all are held by the BJP. Mahesh Sharma has been the representing MP from this seat since 2014 and won the seat in 2019 with a whopping margin of 3.3 lakh votes and almost 60% vote share. He will be contesting in 2024 as well. The BSP is the second largest party with a significant vote share of 35% in 2019 and has fielded Rajendra Singh Solanki.

GBN has seen a huge degree of development and business activity in the last decade and is the hub of heavy-duty investment in the state. Just for the 2024-25 fiscal, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has announced a budget of Rs 10,000 crore making a provision of Rs 700 crore for Noida Airport expansion and Rs 300 crore for rapid rail connectivity. YEIDA is working on a plan to develop eight new sectors including semiconductor parks and data parks for which it is setting up a new land bank. The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated measures to tackle farmers' issues under the Noida Industrial Development Authority (Noida) and the Greater Noida Development Authority (Greater Noida) in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. In February, a high-level three-member committee was formed to address the farmers' grievances in these regions. Farmers in Noida and Greater Noida have continuously requested developed plots and higher compensation for their land, which they had sold for development. These demands have been the main focus of ongoing protests in the area. Wide roads, metro connectivity and large commercial spaces have uplifted the region.

A host of civic issues still ail the urban areas of Noida and Greater Noida. Lack of sanitation, overflowing sewers, open garbage dumps and the menace of stray dogs are just some of the issues faced by residents. Road and traffic management is a problem across GBN, and society development in Noida could have been managed better as many projects have been left abandoned owing to lack of planning, lack of funds or legal disputes. The quality of building material used is also a huge issue. This calls for better regulation on builders.
