In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Nama Nageswr Rao of TRS won in this seat defeating Renuka Chowdhury of INC by a margin of 1,68,062 votes which was 14.74% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 49.78% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy of YSRCP emerged victorious in this seat beating Nama Nageswara Rao of TDP by a margin of 12,204 votes which was 1.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. YSRCP secured a vote share of 35.67% in the seat.
