In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Raveendranath Kumar, P of AIADMK won in this seat defeating Elangovan, E V K S of INC by a margin of 76,693 votes which was 6.54% of the total votes cast for the seat. AIADMK had a vote share of 42.96% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, R Parthipan of AIADMK emerged victorious in this seat beating Pon Muthuramalingam of DMK by a margin of 3,14,532 votes which was 29.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. AIADMK secured a vote share of 53.11% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Aaron Rashid J M of INC won this seat beating Thanga Tamilselvan of ADMK by a margin of 6,302 votes which was 0.79% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 42.54% in the seat.
