In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, K Navaskani of IUML won in this seat defeating Nainar Nagenthran of BJP by a margin of 1,27,122 votes which was 11.92% of the total votes cast for the seat. IUML had a vote share of 44.05% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Anwhar Raajhaa A of AIADMK emerged victorious in this seat beating Mohamed JaleelS of DMK by a margin of 1,19,324 votes which was 11.92% of the total votes polled in the constituency. AIADMK secured a vote share of 40.55% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Sivakumar alias J K Ritheesh K of DMK won this seat beating Sathiamoorthy V of ADMK by a margin of 69,915 votes which was 8.98% of the total votes polled in the constituency. DMK had a vote share of 37.89% in the seat.
