In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Pinaki Misra of BJD won in this seat defeating Dr Sambit Patra of BJP by a margin of 11,714 votes which was 1.03% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJD had a vote share of 47.38% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Pinaki Misra of BJD emerged victorious in this seat beating Sucharita Mohanty of INC by a margin of 2,63,361 votes which was 25.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJD secured a vote share of 50.33% in the seat.
