In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka of INC won in this seat defeating Kausalya Hikaka of BJD by a margin of 3,613 votes which was 0.33% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 34.34% in 2019 in this seat.
