In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Bhartruhari Mahtab of BJD won in this seat defeating Prakash Mishra of BJP by a margin of 1,21,201 votes which was 11.44% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJD had a vote share of 49.47% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Bhartruhari Mahatab of BJD emerged victorious in this seat beating Aparajita Mohanty of INC by a margin of 3,06,762 votes which was 31.35% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJD secured a vote share of 53.76% in the seat.
