In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Sandhya Ray of BJP won in this seat defeating Devashish of INC by a margin of 1,99,885 votes which was 20.81% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 54.81% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Bhagirath Prasad of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Imarti Devi of INC by a margin of 1,59,961 votes which was 21.94% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 55.48% in the seat.
