In the April 6, 2021 bypolls for Malappuram Lok Sabha constituency, Abdussamad Samadani of IUML won from this seat defeating V.P. Sanu of CPIM by a margin of 1,14,692 votes which was 10.43% of the total votes cast for the seat. IUML had a vote share of 48.96% in the bye-elections.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, P K Kunhalikutty of IUML won in this seat defeating V P Sanu of CPIM by a margin of 2,60,153 votes which was 25.14% of the total votes cast for the seat. IUML had a vote share of 57% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, E Ahamed of IUML emerged victorious in this seat beating PKSainaba of CPM by a margin of 1,94,739 votes which was 22.82% of the total votes polled in the constituency. IUML secured a vote share of 51.29% in the seat.
