In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Hibi Eden of INC won in this seat defeating P Rajeev of CPIM by a margin of 1,69,153 votes which was 17.49% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 50.78% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, K V Thomas of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Dr Christy Fernandez of IND by a margin of 87,047 votes which was 10.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 41.59% in the seat.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Prof K V Thomas of INC won this seat beating Sindhu Joy of CPM by a margin of 11,790 votes which was 1.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 46.02% in the seat.
