In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Ramya Haridas of INC won in this seat defeating Dr P K Biju of CPIM by a margin of 1,58,968 votes which was 15.6% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 52.37% in 2019 in this seat.
In 2014, P K Biju of CPM emerged victorious in this seat beating Sheeba of INC by a margin of 37,312 votes which was 4.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM secured a vote share of 44.41% in the seat.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, P K Biju of CPM won this seat beating NK Sudheer of INC by a margin of 20,960 votes which was 2.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. CPM had a vote share of 46.74% in the seat.
