In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, A Narayanaswamy of BJP won in this seat defeating B N Chandrappa of INC by a margin of 80,178 votes which was 6.44% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 50.24% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, B N Chandrappa of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Janardhana Swamy of BJP by a margin of 1,01,291 votes which was 9.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 42.64% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Janardhana Swamy of BJP won this seat beating Dr B Thippeswamy of INC by a margin of 1,35,571 votes which was 16.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 44.35% in the seat.
