In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, B N Bache Gowda of BJP won in this seat defeating M Veerappa Moily of INC by a margin of 1,82,110 votes which was 13.13% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 53.74% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, M Veerappa Moily of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating B N Bache Gowda of BJP by a margin of 9,520 votes which was 0.75% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 33.63% in the seat.
