In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Gaddigoudar Parvatagouda Chandanagouda of BJP won in this seat defeating Veena Kashappanavar of INC by a margin of 1,68,187 votes which was 13.96% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 55.17% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Gaddigoudar Parvtagouda Chandanagouda of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ajay Kumar Sarnaik of INC by a margin of 1,16,560 votes which was 10.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 52.95% in the seat.
