In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Vishnu Dayal Ram of BJP won in this seat defeating Ghuran Ram of RJD by a margin of 4,77,606 votes which was 39.48% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 62.43% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Vishnu Dayal Ram of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Manoj Kumar of RJD by a margin of 2,63,942 votes which was 27.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 48.76% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Kameshwar Baitha of JMM won this seat beating Ghuran Ram of RJD by a margin of 23,538 votes which was 3.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. JMM had a vote share of 25.78% in the seat.
